Rode the Gardner Greenway trail for the first time this evening. It’s a short (1.6 miles one way) trail that follows Bull Creek thru the heart of Gardner, a small but growing town of about 15000. The trail passes thru two small parks as it winds it way along the creek. I think the trail is eventually supposed to connect to the larger Johnson County trail system, but I don’t know when that’s supposed to occur.
The ride was very pleasant, with no cars to worry about. I think I saw more wildlife — rabbits and squirrels — than people. I encountered one jogger and a few people walking their dogs. After I finished a there-and-back on the trail, I rode thru the residential streets of Gardner. Again, it was very pleasant, with few cars and mostly flat riding.
